  1. I was on this cruise ship during this storm, and it was a great trip and there is no doubt that i would go on another one!

  2. Im joing on a cruise this summer… this really eased my nerves.

  3. I wouldn’t go if I were you. You might DIE! If you land in a foreign port they prey on Americans. They may rob you and rape you. Don’t go!

  4. Well Im not going to get raped because im a guy and ill just beat the shit out of people who mess with me. Plus I know were im going and things like that dont happen!

  5. Riiiiiiiiight. I’ve been on 10 cruises. They prey on stupid Americans (I look very European so I’m left alone). They’ll try to pick your pockets. And heaven forbid you miss your ship when it leaves (yes, it happens often).

Think you’re safe? Cozumel has had problems with robberies and rape. Jamaica, gee, let’s not even get started. Dunn River Falls? Bad news!

    Good luck. You’ll need it.

  6. 7 floors wave… what kind of stupid unit is that?

  7. the guy at 1:19 is a pussy

  8. Lol crackhugger123 “The bear had the munchies”

  9. that would be fucking awesome. nobody died and those would be some sweet and exciting memories

  10. there was not a single big wave on may cruisws i had the royal suite on Legend of the seas

  11. Pussies. I was worried that if I go on a cruise ship something like this WOULDN’T happen.

  12. I hate this guy trying to deter people from going on board this vessel.Peter Alexander shouldn’t be making ppl feel cruising is unsafe and not to sail onboard ncl dawn.

  13. lol yeah and americans love to measure everything in football fields.

    What a pussy at 1:10…
“it was hell” as if he’d been fighting in Nam or something.

  15. It’s funny how they say ‘rogue wave’ or ‘freak wave’. These are waves that are going about their business, doing what waves do. The fact that you happen to be on a man-made object floating in the ocean when the wave comes along does not make it something extraordinary.

  16. @moonwalkn1, while freak/rogue waves are just a natural phenomenon, they’re pretty rare and unpredictable and therefore worth of reporting whenever one happens to hit a cruise ship. They’re not “normal waves”.

  17. @Mlito, I guess some people just can’t imagine the size without such comparison.

What was that like? I’ve always wondered

  19. That’s the same kind of wave that hit the ship posidon in the movie.

  20. @moonwalkn1 A rogue wave is any wave more than twice the current significant wave height. In other words, if the biggest waves around are 40 ft in height, then any wave 80 ft or taller would be considered a rogue wave. They aren’t as rare as they were once believed to be, but they sure as hell aren’t common either. Waves as high as 110 ft have been recorded. A very special set of conditions has to arise for such a wave to occur. These are not normal waves.

  21. It does not change the fact that it is part of what goes on in the ocean. I don’t call tornadoes ‘rogue winds’, or mudslides ‘rogue dirt and water’.

  22. Oh, but it’s just wind doing what wind does! Why do you need a fancy name like “tornado”? And it’s just the ground. So what if it occasionally gets saturated with water and MOVES really fast downhill and buries people alive. It’s just the ground doing what the ground sometimes does. Why do we need silly words like “mudslide” or “earthquake” to describe such an ordinary event?

“Tragically, more than 500 people died today in Peru because of the ground. And in other news…”

    /sarcasm

  23. I don’t disagree with you. I suppose I’m just trying to say that we shake our fists at nature when nature does what it does and we get IN THE WAY. If I stood in the middle of the highway, I can’t accuse a car that mows me down of being a ‘rogue vehicle’.

  24. Well, when you put it that way, I suppose I don’t disagree with you either. In fact, I agree 100%!

To go slightly off topic, when a woman was killed by a whale at Seaworld recently there was talk in the news of whether or not to “blame the whale”. Of course you don’t blame the whale! If you stick your head in a lion’s mouth, you’re just asking to get it bit off. It’s not the lion’s fault!

I’m glad we agree after all. I apologize for my sarcasm.

  25. “Gale Force winds…” Ooooo, how frightening! Give me a break.
